Abstract

Coronaviruses are belonging to a large family most of them are animal viruses except 6 of

them cross the species barrier to infect human. At the beginning of the 21th century SARS-
CoV1 was emerged and controlled followed by Middle East Respiratory Syndrome CoV

(MERS-CoV) which still circulating in the Arabian Peninsula and by the end of 2019 the new

SARS-CoV was emerged with high potential for transmission globally. The risk of the SARS-
CoV2 is being in the novelty of the virus where the similarity of SARS CoV2 with MERS-CoV

is ~51.8% and with SARSCoV1 is 79% and the second issue is the rapid transmission of the
virus. To control this rapid transmitted virus, we have to develop a candidate vaccine, and
this is what the researchers do in many countries including Egypt. Our approaches to
develop candidate vaccines are i) Virus vectorbased vaccine; ii) DNA vaccine ; iii) the
recombinant DNA constructs which prepared in approach II were used to express the
corresponding peptides (S1,S,S2,RBD &N) and IV) Whole virus inactivated candidate
vaccine
