Abstract

Security alliances have played a central role in shaping global geopolitics. During the Cold War, organizations such as Central Treaty Organization and Southeast Asia Treaty Organization were established to contain ideological expansion and maintain regional stability. Although these alliances eventually dissolved, their evolution provides important lessons for understanding modern security blocs like North Atlantic Treaty Organization and the Quadrilateral Security Dialogue. This article examines their historical development and draws insights for current geopolitical alignments.
