Abstract

The study of political power requires analysis not only of formal constitutional institutions but also of informal structures that influence decision-making, resource allocation, policy implementation, and governance outcomes. Across both developed and developing political systems, scholars increasingly recognize that formal institutions rarely operate in isolation. Instead, political authority emerges through complex interactions among constitutional bodies, bureaucratic organizations, economic elites, professional networks, social coalitions, security institutions, political parties, and informal mechanisms of influence.
